Samsung has announced two new X series ultraportable laptops - X180 and X430 in Korea. These two new X-series laptops have Intel's ultra low voltage Core i3 series processors inside them. These laptops are meant for users looking forward to light weight and thin devices which promise a battery life of more than six hours. Samsung hasn't announced the shipping date or pricing details of these new X-series ultraportable laptops.
The two new X-series ultraportable laptops include 11.6-inch Samsung X180 that comes equipped with 1.20GHz Intel Core i3 330UM with 3MB shared cache. This ultra-low voltage Intel processor is paired with Intel HM55 chipset and has Intel GMA HD integrated graphics inside. Samsung has added 3GB DDR3 RAM and 320GB 5400RPM SATA HDD for storage. This laptop features two 1.5W speakers offering HD Audio sound with SRS 3D Sound Effect.
Samsung X180 has an 11.6-inch LED HD screen with 16:9 aspect ratio and support for 720p HD video play back. One can make the best of HDMI port to hook up a larger HD TV display. Other features of the laptop include built-in web camera, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/n), three USB 2.0 ports, LAN port and has 6-cell battery promising battery life of up to eight hours. Do note that the X180 doesn't come with an optical drive.
The 14-inch X430 comes with same processor-chipset configuration. Its LED HD display supports 1366x738 pixel resolution with 16:9 aspect ratio - good enough for 720p HD movies. Samsung has packed Nvidia GeForce 310M discrete graphics with 512MB dedicated video memory for best HD video and graphics output on an ultraportable. With 4GB DDR3 RAM, this laptop has 500GB SATA for storage. The pair of 1.5W speakers promise HD audio with SRS 3D Surround Effect.
This laptop comes with an optical drive, built-in web camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/n, Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI out, LAN port and three USB 2.0 ports. Both X-series laptops come with genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit operating system.
